Treatment

An acupuncture treatment typically last for about 1 hour (1.5 hours for initial treatments) and includes consultation, diagnosis and treatment.

Consultation

A number of different diagnostic methods are used to get a complete picture of your health and lifestyle. These include taking a comprehensive medical history, reading your pulses and looking at your tongue. This usually takes between 20-30 minutes or 45 minutes for initial consultations.

Diagnosis

Based on the information gathered during consultation, a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis is made and a personalised treatment plan is formulated.

Treatment

Very fine needles are then inserted into specifically selected acupuncture points on the body to regulate the flow of ‘qi’, your body’s vital energy. The needles are retained for approximately 20-30 minutes. The single-use sterile needles come in sealed packs and are safely disposed of after each treatment. At The Manchester Acupuncture Room we only use the highest quality, industry leading needles for maximum patient comfort.
